Clare Cleveland's lifelong love of movement began when she
took her first dance classes as a child. She has continued to be an avid
student of classical ballet, modern, and contemporary dance styles ever since. As
a movement educator, she draws on her diverse background as a GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Instructor, Franklin Method® Movement Educator, Integrative Yoga Therapist, Certified
BodyTalk® Practitioner, and experiential anatomy teacher. Her over 18 years of experience in medical
research for both Stanford University Psychiatry and UCSF’s Division of Rheumatology
also enhances and informs her practice. Clare’s multidisciplinary background
enables her to work well with a variety of individuals and groups –adults of
all fitness levels, seniors, dancers, and those recovering from injury or
dealing with chronic conditions such as arthritis, scoliosis, stenosis, and
other spinal and joint issues. Clare teaches clients and students to re-pattern
movement and postural habits, improve body and breath awareness, and to
identify and eliminate stressors contributing to chronic tension. The ultimate
goal of her sessions is to give clients and students the tools they need to
become more relaxed, strong, balanced and free.
Clare holds a Bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology,
is a Licensed GYROTONIC®Pre-Trainer andGYROKINESIS®Instructor, a Franklin Method® Movement Educator, Certified Integrative Yoga
